Episode 63- You have surely heard of your chakras, but do you know how to rock them? In this episode, we get into this spectrum of energy portals that exist within us with founder of Uplifted Yoga, Brett Larkin, trying to understand how each chakra has both physical and emotional aspects. When one of these energy centers is out of balance within us, we can heal ourselves by working out potential emotional and energetic causes for our symptoms, and using tools (like yoga, food, color or meditation) to bring our own energies back into equilibrium.

  • What are the chakras? "Portals through all the layers of our being."
  • Hear Brett describe each chakra, the emotional and spiritual subtle meanings of each, and how to balance and align each one.
  • A chakra can be out of balance in either direction. If there is not enough energy running through, the chakra is deficient. If there is too much energy running through, that chakra is in excess.
  • The goal is to get each chakra is balanced.

  • Since each chakra is associated with a color, you can think of the seven chakras as a spectrum like a rainbow.
  • The endocrine glands are also associated with each chakra.
  • Trauma can create negative imprints within an energy center (chakra).
  • Simple chakra balancing techniques for third eye: Chanting Om, rolling gaze up and in, pressing tongue on upper palate, alternate nostril breathing, yoga poses with a block under head.
  • Universal cycles and archetypes are reflected in the chakra symbolism.
  • Self-awareness practice is crucial to keeping your chakras in health (such as meditation or yoga).
