DEFINITION of THE MYSTERIES OF FERTILITY AND THE THYROID: More and more people are claiming problems with fertility as the world we live in becomes more inundated with toxicity in our food, medicine and general environment. Parallel to these world-wide fertility problems, we are also seeing more and more people being diagnosed with Thyroid conditions. Are these conditions related? And if so, how can we heal our thyroids and boost our fertility?

MAIN POINTS:

  • Inflammatory foods can lead to a lot of health problems. Remember, food is medicine or poison!
  • Our hormones regulate every system in our body.

  • Chronic hormonal or autoimmune conditions can have roots in nutrition, stress, emotional blockages or underlying viruses.

  • Stress can cause both infertility and hormonal imbalance.
  • Many endocrine disrupting chemicals (chemicals that disrupt our hormones) are found in our environment, including our beauty and cleaning products. Make good and natural choices where you can.
  • Plastics can leach into your food and mimic estrogen which puts your hormones off balance. Even BPA-free plastics can disrupt your hormones. Never heat food in plastic!
  • Gut and liver health cannot be underestimated in our ability to clean out extra hormones, increase fiber intake to aid in releasing excess hormones.
  • Try to eat whole foods instead of supplements (except supplemental magnesium). 
  • Before you do IVF, consider why your body is not ready or wanting to conceive. Try to address the underlying root.
  • Tip from Nat: If you want to be pregnant, act as if you are already pregnant. Eat the things you would eat if you were pregnant, do the things you would do if you were pregnant, feel the feelings you would feel if you were pregnant.
  • Tip from Nat: Eat fat and protein in every meal for healthy hormones (hormones are made of fat and protein.)
