Episode 10-Do you see food as either medicine or poison? In this episode, Amber and Jenna discuss how everything you put in your body is either medicinal or slowly killing you over time. Get some practical tips on how to shift your habits around this topic and live a delicious and vibrant life.

DEFINITION of FOOD AS MEDICINE: Seeing food as either medicine or poison and choosing to become aware of what foods are helping your body heal and live optimally, and which foods are making your body manifest dis-ease (disease) patterns and old age.

Main Points:
  • First Step: Reestablishing your mindset. Educate yourself about food as medicine.
  • We are bio-individuals. Know your body, trust your body, listen to it.
  • Are you making choices based on a habitual pattern, or because your body really needs this food?
  • Develop your internal compass on what foods are medicine for your body.
  • Major paradigm shift/systematic change needed around the food in hospitals, schools, ect. In hospitals, they often food serve that is counter-productive to the healing process.
  • Large corporations are profiting on the way things are.
  • The idea of "Let food be thy medicine" comes directly from Hippocrates, the Greek "father of modern medicine" more than 2,000 years ago! This is not a new concept!
  • Food is connected to consciousness. High vibrational foods will aid in consciousness evolution.
  • Toxins can stay in your body for a long time after eating them, and are building up in your body.
  • When Amber get's sick, she turns to food as medicine. (raw garlic, bone broth, raw onion, turmeric, WATER!!!!)
  • Consider your water choice!
  • Medicinal Foods (in general): Whole foods from the earth (veggies, fruits, unprocessed whole grain), local and recently picked foods, ORGANIC, dark leafy greens, berries, well-researched/wild fish, nuts)
  • Poison Foods (in general): Non-Organic (especially meat and dairy...yuck!!!), GMO, pesticides, herbicides, High Fructose Corn Syrup, hormones, antibiotics, additives, processed sugars, long chemical ingredients, soda)
  • Some foods are more crucial than others to eat organic. Here is the "Dirty Dozen List" which mentions which foods NEED to be organic, because pesticides stay on these foods.
  • The "Clean 15" are foods that have tough skin, they are less harmful to eat non-organic 

  • INVITATION: We invite YOU for 24 hours to ask yourself before every food choice, "is this poison, or is this medicine?" and if it is poison, PUT IT DOWN and replace with a medicinal choice...and note how your body feels.
