There are COUNTLESS reasons why we should strictly, only be putting organic food and beauty products in/onto our bodies.

The fact that our children are exposed to more harmful pesticides, additives, colorings, sugars and environmental toxins than EVER before in history is alone a good reason to make the effort to put chemical-free, safe food on their plate.

Before I list some health effects non-organic foods have on our precious human bodies, please, ponder on the idea that perhaps there is a link between the fact that obesity has become #1 health concern among parents and this rapidly growing manipulation of our food supply.

Could this toxic overload in foods be contributing to the 1 out of 3 children that are chronically overweight or obese in America?

The fact that obesity rates have trippled over the past 30 years just maaaay be related to the fact that parents and schools are supplying their children with harmful foods on a daily basis.
First step is educating oneself on what is poison and what is medicine so we can protect our own health and the health of our family.

Reasons to eat organic

  • If you are NOT eating organic you ARE eating GMO, pesticides, preservatives and possibly many more toxic ingredients.
  • Nutrients, minerals and vitamins are more dense in organic foods
  • Organic food has more flavor!
  • You are not eating chemicals that have been sprayed on the food or put in the soil.
  • You are supporting the regeneration of the earth
  • You are supporting organic farmers who are preserving our right to healthy food/LIFE!
  • You are avoiding GMO's. You probably know that 30 countries have banned the use of GMOs in their food supply, yet hidden GMOs are regulated safe in US by FDA (See more here)
  • You are avoiding antibiotics, hormones and other drugs when you choose organic meat and dairy products.
  • You are reducing pollution and protecting water and soil quality. (Agricultural chemicals, pesticides, and fertilizers are contaminating our environment, poisoning our precious water supplies, and destroying the value of fertile farmland. Certified organic standards do not permit the use of toxic chemicals in farming and require responsible management of healthy soil and biodiversity.)
  • You know what you are putting into your body and what effect it will have on your health.
  • A recent study in Pediatrics, 2010, showed a direct link between pesticides and ADHD.
  • You are protecting our future and children. Putting our money where our mouths are is a powerful position to take in the one trillion dollar food industry in America. Spending dollars in the organic sector is a direct vote for a sustainable future for the many generations to come.
  • You are saving trips to the doctor (and we all know how costly it can be to getting mixed up in the health care system in America)
  • You are being a positive example to your friends, family, community and expanding the ripple effect which can lead to a healthier country and world.

If you are concerned about the cost of living an organic life, never fear,  there are ways to eat organic and actually SAVE. Thrivemarket.com is an online supermarket that offers organic produce and superfoods at a discounted price.

Shopping for fresh produce at your local Farmers Market is also a great way to support local farmers, and  get better prices.

There is also a dirty dozens list that presents foods that are the most densely sprayed with chemicals which are hard to get off. It also lists food that are less dangerous to eat when non-organic. If you cant afford to buy all organic then only buy organic on the foods that your know are toxic when they are NON-organic!

What are some of YOUR experiences with organic/non-organic food and how it has affected your body? Let us know in the comments section, PLEASE!
