By Amber Lestrange, Photo Credit, Unknown This week I am feeling energized by the superpower of community. Each time I meet with my tribe, I get a fresh fix of support, laughter, perspective, hope, inspiration, and a feeling of being seen, understood and cherished. Medicine for the soul! I walk away with a clear and deep knowing that community is a very necessary and integral part of my growth and happiness. These friendships I cultivate are my chosen family AND an amazing mirror to what I need to heal or parts of me I should celebrate!
I do have to take credit for one thing... choosing to surround myself with people who I admire and feel good being in their company. Gone are the days I spend time with someone just to fill a space or distract myself from deeper issues I may be running from. This was not always the case. At one point in my life I had a unforgiving feeling of low self worth and confusion to who I really was and where I was really going. I followed the bread crumbs and found that the company I was keeping was not resonant with who I wanted to be and was feeding the fearful stories I had come to believe about myself and the world. I was left with an icky feeling (a indicator that I was out of alignment with my truth!) and I eventually learned to follow that freedom quick smart OUT of there toward a better vibration match. I looked for people who drew the best out of me and who held me accountable to be the best version of myself i could be. Now, my community is nourishment for me and a checkpoint that I can refer to, to make sure I am on the right path. This village-like feeling that naturally stems from community, is a potent place to birth movements, endeavors, businesses, exchange information, resources and simply, just feel accepted and loved. There is a reason why people who live in community live perhaps ten to twenty years longer than the average person! The path to creating a community that one yearns for is really quite simple.
