What inspired you to create Living Wholly?
At the age of 33, I was diagnosed with a ‘borderline’ ovarian tumor. I had diagnostic laparoscopic surgery to remove the tumor and it returned immediately after one month. Ovarian cancer is in my lineage and the doctors began getting concerned about the direction this was going. They scheduled the surgery to remove my ovary. I was clear that something deeper was creating this issue and that I did not want to have the surgery. I also, knew in my heart that I wanted to have children and become a Mother. From my education at the University of Santa Monica, I knew that if I didn’t resolve the issue the tumor would simply move to another part of my body. Taking a leap of faith and trusting my intuition, I decided to go to the Optimum Health Institute to cleanse and detoxify my body, mind and soul. I knew it was time to decompress from my stress filled lifestyle, toxic foods and the dense environment I was surrounded by. I needed to step outside of my every day to truly restore myself. I chose to live at OHI for 4 months. I was a guest and a missionary during that time. As a missionary, I served many guests who had life threatening diseases. I supported them on their journey and beared witness to miraculous transformation of stage 4 dis-eases and deep healing. In 2013, my tumor was 100% gone and I was healed. Late 2014, I gave birth to my firstborn child. Upon my return to Venice, I started Living Wholly which is based on my own life's journey. The events were intended to support me with deeper integration and to more fully live my best life.
What has been the greatest gift you have received from Living Wholly?
The greatest gift has been all of the extraordinary people I connect and collaborate with each day. As I curate events, products, strategic partnerships and talk with thought leaders, I have an opportunity to connect with the most passionate people that are fully committed to uplifting the planet and elevating consciousness. It is profound and such a gift. Another precious gift is the accountability it creates inside of myself as it keeps me on track with my own health. This is a blessing.
What are you looking for when choosing speakers/locations/food to host events with?
When I am looking for speakers, it all depends on the city I am curating the event for and what is currently ‘up’/needed for this community. I like to collaborate with speakers that align with the audience we are aiming to reach. I make sure the speaker/s are accessible for the guest list. I also, love to bring in speakers that people are excited to hear from whether they are best selling authors, well known keynote speakers, global thought leaders or innovators in their field. We seek venues that are exquisite. We love spaces feel good and have beautiful views. Details are important to us as this makes an event memorable on a deeper level. We always serve organic food at our events. The food is very important to us as this supports the guests to experience food that is delicious, clean and healthy. We partner with consciously sourced restaurants and caterers depending on the venue and city. We were born in Los Angeles. We love curating events in this city and always will. AND we are very clear that we want to expand into more cities that don’t have as much programming of this kind. I believe we can serve more people by taking it on the road to places that are eager to evolve. We recently launched in Aspen. We will be in Austin and Atlanta in 2018.
What does living wholly mean to you?
Living Wholly means attunement on the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual levels. It is vital that all of these areas are awakened as they are deeply connected. This is a consistent practice for me and takes devotion. AND my life depends on it. Literally. Living Wholly means living a life that feels authentic to you and to honor what your heart desires. It looks different for each person. Honoring your path, listening to what you need and giving yourself permission to say yes is deeply healing.
How have you seen your mission impact lives around you?
I have seen people immerse into the path of inner healing and transformation from our events. I’ve experienced an increased interest in the mind/body connection, which is deeply meaningful for me. I have seen people cultivate life long friendships from our events. I have seen people connect with higher levels of support from our collection of Experts that has transformed their life. I have experienced people changing their product regime from our online shop, which has deeply supported their overall health and wellbeing.
Can anyone attend your events?
We do send out personal invitations to those that have attended our events first. If those people send referrals, we will send out personal invitations to them as well. We give those people first dibs on the events as the events do sell out. It is important to note that our intention is to expand our reach always. Our goal is to serve and elevate consciousness offering that to everyone. Therefore, we have Ambassadors that support us to cast our net far and wide. We welcome everyone to experience our events. We also, offer a few volunteer positions for each event for those that want to experience the events but cannot pay the full ticket price.
